Fixing Splinter Cell Conviction Error and Crash

1. Let’s Start with which ATI catalyst driver 10.4

Note! This driver is provided as is and is not supported by AMD. It has not completed full AMD testing, and is only recommended for users experiencing the particular issue described above. This release is not supported by ATI Radeon™ HD5800 Eyefinity 6 series of products.

Additional Recommendations:
If the issue continues to occur after installation of the driver preview, the following troubleshooting steps can help resolve the issue:
- The problem may be a result of issues within the game application. Install any patches and / or updates available for the game application.
- Contact the game developer for instructions on how to obtain / install the latest patches and / or updates for the game application
- Conflict between the graphics card and motherboard’s BIOS version can cause performance issues. To reduce any hardware compatibility conflicts, install the latest BIOS version available for the motherboard
- Contact the motherboard manufacturer for instructions on how to obtain / install the latest BIOS version for the motherboard
- Installation errors that may have occurred during the installation of the game application may cause performance instability. Perform a clean install of the game application
- First uninstall the application
- Perform a fresh install of the application
- Install any available patches / updates for the application
- If the problem persists, reinstall the ATI Catalyst 10.4a Driver Preview
- Installation errors that may have occurred during the installation of the ATI Catalyst Software may cause performance instability. Perform a clean install of the ATI Catalyst Software

2.While viewing video cutscenes in between levels, it either goes silent or repeats the same phrase at some point for a short time
* If using Realtek High Definition Audio, Soundmax HD Audio, or nForce Audio,
you may experience sound anomalies.
To work around the problem, reduce the Hardware acceleration slider to ‘Basic’
in the Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices->Audio tab->Advanced->Performance
tab.
3.I click to play and I get this message GAME.LOST CONNECTION.RESUME
Maybe you got a piracy edition, this whole game is protected, soyou can only access the main menu. If this is reallya problem, let’s wait for ubisoft hotfix
Missing menu options and in game textures
If you are running into the issues with missing menu text, menu items or in game textures, try disabling Catalyst AI in Catalyst control panel. You need to do this in all applicable places (i.e. under the AI tab as well as All tab in CCC).
My screen resolution is not supported. What’s up?
This is not a technical fix but more like a UI issue. If you try to change the video resolution in Splinter Cell : Conviction, sometimes you may find the resolution that matches your display is missing from the list (for example some widescreen res). You might not notice it but you can actually scroll down the list of resolutions.
Cannot display video mode error – game starts up in a resolution unsupported by the monitor
If you get this error, you might have to manually edit the game configuration file and set a resolution compatible with your monitor. There is a detailed forum thread on UBISoft forums on how to do this – you may access it from here.
scc.exe stopped working error when trying to launch the game
Sometimes, the game might hang at launch when it tries to auto detect system components. If this happens, you can bypass the auto detection process, launch the game and manually adjust optimal settings yourself. Navigate to your game’s installation directory and rename the file systemdetection.dll to something else. Now launch the game – it will throw an error message but the game should launch instead of hanging.

my screen resolution is 1900×200 the closest screen resolution that matches mine in splinter cell is 800×4!! its not 600.
anyways I still see black line on top its like an aspect ratio of 16:9 in staid of 16:10.
So is there any solution or I got to suffer with this line above & below me.

Hi, I have Metro 2033 and I never played the game. I hope I never emailed you before I really need help. When I try to lauch it It says Metro is unavailble. It doesn’t give me a reason. I’ve had the game since it came out. I have the req. hardware and software, I even had driver finding software. My drivers are up to date.

My son some kinda way got hold to my ps3 joy stick while i was in the control section of the gta4 game and now i cant get it back to normal functions. I can’t use my phone when I press the up button and i cant select different guns when I press the left and right button. I put it in classic and standard sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. when I have a gun in hand and I try to enter a car I have to go back and fourth with the controls to enter the car. can you help me?
if the problem is only your son make yourseting change just return it to default mode. Each game must have this default setting.
the easiest way to check what is the default setting manually is play without load your saved game.
just pass the requirement is not enough. You must update your driver to the latest verson. And try installing the hotfix too.
