This is an update from previous post, i suggest you to READ previous post before you read this post

some of my friend got some trouble for installing this game and it always ende up eturned to desktop when the game launched. But don’t worry looks like if already found fix for it. I hope this can help you too (this is from trial and error 6 attempt):

spec WIN XP SP 3 // CORE 2 DUO 2,4Ghz // 2Gb RAM // ATI 3870X2 OC

1.The first problem is the game crash into desktopĀ  when the first intro movie began. Then i updated my patch with skidrow patch and it worked out but crash again in the loading before the game start.

2.Just like other forum and my previous post said, i’ve installed all the necessary program: directx, physisx, visual C++), and then i’m reinstall this from the beginning without removing the first installation, just install again in the same directory and folder.

3.The file size still the same 6,9 GB—> i know this wouldn’t work.
4.Restart (this is accidentally, because my house got a power cut), and when the power is back, i check again my reinstalled file, still 6,9 Gb. Without internet connection i’m trying to launch the game. And then ENG ING ENG the game run smoothly without crash and another problem.
and i check again the file size, it become 7,4 Gb. it’s weird right?

So my Conclusion is:

1. install the program like Driver, hysx and etc before installing the game.

2.Make sure your computer system is up to date

3.Install first and, when it crashed, reinstall again (overwrite method)

4.Try launching the game without internet connection

I have a problem, because I can’t install visual c++ runtime, because i get error at the end and can’t install physX engine, because i get error at the beginning. I can’t run the game because of this. I tried admin privileges, but it didnt help. Please if you know what to do : answer me.

I have been trying to get to change my Fov, but i cant.

Everywhere i look there is either comments about changing fov in windows XP, or a steam installed copy. And i have neither of these.

I dont have a steam copy, and i dont have windows XP, i have windows 7 so i dont have a /applicationdata/ folder.

And i can find my metro2033 folder in my user folder but in there there are only save files, no user.cfg.

The only user.cfg i can find is the one in the original metro2033 folder and when i change the fov there nothing happens.
